If you are very quick, and walking up 1st Avenue today, you might see a postcard display of the previous 8 on the site and 5 from my Gated Community project on the gated construction opposite!

After-the-fact- update:
here they are in situ before they came down…

The New Year’s Eve celebrations are over for some around the world but here in NYC the festive are waiting patiently, in their pens at Times Square, for the ball to drop at midnight.

I thought I’d post this photo taken in 1989 in the Times Square area of 43rd Street and 7th Avenue (not on NYE!) How it has changed! There’s still tourists visible in my photo – just not as many as are there tonight!

Let me take this opportunity to wish you, my faithful supporters, a very Happy New Year. I hope 2016 will bring you peace, good health and much happiness.

When you photograph in New York it’s hard to ignore construction. When I saw this call for construction photographs, run by the Society of International Commercial & Industrial Photographers, despite not really being a commercial construction photographer, I thought I’d send a couple of my images in.

Surprisingly this photograph was awarded 2nd place! 2nd place photo

I sent two other images in, this one, the latest in my collection of the ongoing work on the building across the street.

The final image was… well, I’m going to let you see if you can spot it! Let’s just say it’s not a typical construction site photo! Last one

Beautiful light and the workman just sitting in the warmth. No phone, no food, just being.
