I’m not sure what it is about this photograph that keeps drawing me in. Maybe it is the calming colors, maybe the quality of the light streaming through the window, maybe it’s the cabinet or the spot of colour provided by the flowers.
Maybe it’s just the idea of having this much empty space!
We are fascinated by windows since childhood. They allow one to view things from high up or from far away within the relative safety of the glass barrier and the surrounding walls. The low camera placement, relative to the floor, seen in the relatively obtuse angle of line of sight coincident with the table surface, gives the viewer the point of view of a small child. We are drawn into the room and want to see what lies beyond the glass.
